Not only was this past weekend Easter, but my sweet friend Katie Wood became Mrs. Katie Campbell! She and Harley got married Saturday evening at Grandview on top of Lookout Mountain. It was a beautiful wedding with a spectacular view, and a gorgeous bride!
Friday afternoon, I drove to Chattanooga for the rehearsal, and the rehearsal dinner which was at Porter's Steakhouse. Everyone made teary-eyed toasts about Harley and Katie, then we celebrated Harley's 30th birthday! The bridal party all stayed in a cottage for the weekend, and, of course, we stayed up talking and laughing entirely too late! The next day was full of wedding festivities like; hair and make-up, pictures galore, taping down bridesmaid dresses, sweet toasts, many tears and many laughs. Then, it was finally time for the sweetest (and quickest) wedding ceremony. It was such a special weekend and I loved being a part of it all!
I had originally planned to stay all weekend in Chattanooga, but decided last Tuesday that I was going to go home Saturday night after the wedding and surprise my family for Easter! I left the mountain around 10pm and made it to my parent's around 2am. (I might have made a stop or two for a red bull.) I had planned to wake up early and be at my sister's to surprise all of them, but I didn't hear my alarm. I woke up around 8am, and much to my dismay they had already left for church. I did get to see them at church, and even got to sit with VA during the second service!
I had a delicious lunch with my Mama, Daddy, Alicia, and Nana, then spend the rest of the day with The Smelts before heading home to Athens.

$50+ on a dress means I can wear it for a wedding one night, then for Easter the next morning, right?! RIGHT?! don't judge me. |
It was a fabulous weekend and I couldn't imagine not spending Easter with this fabulous family of mine! I hope all of you had a wonderful Easter weekend! Now, let's all go break out our white pants!
