Courage, not compromise, brings the smile of God's approval. ~Thomas S. Monson
I'm always looking for approval.
I look for my sister's approval on the clothes i wear.
I look for my [entire] family's approval on the guys i date.
I look for my mom's approval on where i go, what i do. [shall i say, i did..lol.]
I look for my friend's approval on the other people i hang out with.
Most everyone is always looking for someone else's approval. No matter how old you get, you always want someone else to say that what you're doing/wearing/who you're dating/ or who you're friends are is okay with them. Because believe it or not, if someone doesn't like something we wear, we tend to never wear it again. If just ONE friend, doesn't like the rest of your group of friends, you normally drop that one. And even if we don't like it, parents will always WANT to approve everything you do.
We should be the same way with God. Instead of always seeking after another friend, or family member's approval of something, why not seek God's approval. Shouldn't we be living by His guidelines anyway?!
When we wake up in the morning, instead of calling your sister/mother to make sure your outfit looks okay, make sure it meets to God's approval, first. If the boy/girl you're currently dating doesn't seem like someone God would approve of, why are you wasting your time, and theirs?! God shouldn't be the last person we run to, when things fall apart. He should be the very CENTER of our daily lives!!!
It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
~Psalm 118:8
