happy birthday, Princess Alabama Grace

i cannot believe that my little Princess turned ONE this week!!!! it seems like just a month ago, we were sitting in the waiting room for hours on end waiting for that precious little baby to arrive!! becoming an aunt was one the best things in the world to me! i've wanted to have a niece pretty much since the day my sister got married. (not quite that soon, but still!) then finally, 6 years later, she arrives! :D and i couldn't have asked for a more perfect one!!  I love all the cute little things she's doing now! like saying "Hey" to EVERYONE she meets!! she might not want you to hold her, but she'll tell you hey! and you better say it back!! she "gives her babies love" praises the Lord, and "prays" for you! she hasn't started walking yet, but she did take ONE step on her birthday! :) moving so much closer to that little girl running around everywhere! and i can't wait!! she's gotten pretty "fussy" a lot lately! i've heard of terribly two's but ones?! never!  if she doens't want you to hold her, or "give you love" it isn't going to happen! if she wants something, she's going to get it! no doubt about it, that little princess is turning into a DIVA! it's too cute though! you can't help but laugh about most everything she does!!

Friday was her offical birthday, so we had planned to go eat, and go to monkey joes, but V had so much other stuff to do as well, we only went to eat. Big Momma, Sweetpotato, Aunt Katie, and Momma all went to Cracker Barrel for lunch! that's one of our favorites!! :) after that, we went and picked up her cake from Shea! she made her a cupcake for her smash cake, and then a giant cupcake for everyone else!

then we went to meet her daddy at target before he had to go do some Kids Alive work day stuff! after we got a few things at target, we went to babies -r-us for me to get her birthday present. i know, i know, i'mlast minute!  lol I got her an umbrella stroller, an outfit, and a jacket, and her favorite-Yogurt Melts!!! in two different flavors! :)

after we left augusta, we went to visit granny and make sure she was feeling better!! we stayed there pretty late, then went home to get the sleepy girl into bed! VA and i started getting ready for the party a little bit that night! we had a few decortations to get together, and adam stayed up and talked to us. lol we finally went to  bed about 1:30, (i stayed the night with them, that night.) and then got up about 8:30 the next morning to start getting the house ready for the party! i made cookies, helped clean, and got balloons, while adam ran to the grocery store and vacuumed, and VA got her and the baby ready, and cleaned and decorated.

the party was only family! it would have been real crazy if there were more people there, so i'm glad it was small! she got lots of presents!! clothes, toys, strollers, car seats, cars, babies (ect)! he favorite thing was the paper, of course!!! after presents, we took some pictures, then it was CAKE TIME!!! her smash cake was a little cupcake, but the icing was royal icing so it hardened, which wasn't quite as fun as if it had been buttercream so it would be real messy!! we had some left over icing i made for cookies, so VA thought of that real quick and threw some of that on the cupcake for her to get messy with!! she was messy, but i think her highchair was worse than she was!!!! we had lots of fun with all her family that were able to come!!! i think she enjoyed it too, besides she was one tired little baby!!!!!

she's getting so big!!!! and Aunt Katie couldn't love her more!!! she's so perfect in every way!!! i'm also kind of glad that i'm not at EC this year. i miss it and everyone like crazy, but i also love being so involved in my little niece's life! i don't think i could imagine not being right next door to her, this first year especially!!!
