hospital visits.

besides all my running around all week, i was at the hosptial as well!
my granny had a TIA-or mini stroke on monday! I had to work monday night, had to work tuesday morning and had plans for tuesday night already, so i didn't get a chance to make it down there until wednesday afternoon. by the time i got to see her, she was actually much better besides her speech was still slurred!

--Quick recap- my granny and and i are real close. When i was younger, every friday night when most kids had sleep overs with their friends, i was at my granny's house! every. single. weekend. i hate when she's sick, and i hate having to see her lying in a hospital bed with stuff attached to her!! i know she's getting older (82!) so i'm sure we might have more hospital trips, but still. i hate it!

wednesday was pretty crazy, once i got there, aunt judy decided to go home and get some rest! she stayed the night at the hospital, because granny had gotten real sick on tuesday night. only about 10 minutes after she left, she calls me to come get her...her car died in the middle of the road!!! i called the best brother in law around to come and get her van with the wrecker. since he works in downtown, he wasn't too far away! so we went back to the hospital until it was time for me to leave for milly! momma came and got alicia and aunt judy after she got off work!!

well on thursday, granny was supposed to come home, which she did, just not until late!! her dr. (which for the record, i do not like. at all.) gave her neurontin, which my granny can't take because she has horrible side effects for! just about every single of them, she got. she can't remember anything, she doesn't make sense, she can't walk, everything is weak, being horribly dizzy, blurry vision, and shakiness, fatigue, dry mouth, and so forth! those were the worst. well all day on thursday, she was acting crazy, and not making sense, complaining of all these things! we didn't know what in the worldd was going on, until the dr came and told us it was actually the side effects of the neurontin. after talking with the dr, he "let her" go home. even though we had wanted her stay a few extra days! so we got her dressed and ready to go home! however, once we got her to the car, which was my dad's suburban, she couldn't climb in it! her legs were too weak to barely even walk, not to mention stepping up. well she almost fell trying to get in because the horrible nurse, told her "you've got to do it, you can't stop" while my granny was screaming about her legs giving out and she couldn't even stand up. (that nurse almost got slapped in the face. she better be glad i was holding my granny up so my hands weren't free.) i had to hold granny up, she sat on my legs and i held her arms, while the lady called for help to get her in the car. finally we were on the way home, and judy insisted that we couldn't get inside so she called the ambulance to help, (but i'm pretty sure i could have done it.) anyway, we got in her, and on the bed. then time for supper came, but she was in the bed..not her chair. so for about an hour we tried getting her sit up in the bed, so she could eat. however she couldn't help us any because she was too weak, so we ended having to call her pastor, James and his wife Frances came and helped us, and with them and me and alicia we all just lifted her up in the bed! whew! we stayed at her house most of the night, and finally got her up and sitting in her chair before we left! haven't talked to her today, or yesterday, but on friday she seemed to be moving around much better, so hopefully all that horrible medicine is out of her system and she's on the road to recovery!!!
(as long as they don't put her in trinity anymore! UH all the way!) lol
