ALL THE THINGS.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Christmas was great and I rang in New Year's with a great group of friends! I also turned another year old since I last bloggeed. Christmas birthdays are not any fun, by the way.

ANYWAY-
Keeping in tradition of me being the fine procrastinator I am, I, after much thought, finallly made a list of "resolutions" for 2014.
I'm not going to ramble out  a list of things that I'll never accomplish. I wanted to set some goals for the new year. Things I know I could make happen, and should make happen.

1. Read more books.
Jon Acuff started an Empty Shelf Challenge for 2014 and I want to join in. You simply empty a bookshelf in your home and fill it with all the books you read this year. I love to read, but I never make enough time to do it, so I want to be better about that this year.

2. Run another 5K.
I ran my first 5K, The Color Run, in March of last year, then I ran the Diva 5K in April and did the Color Run again in October. I'm NOT a runner, and I doubt I ever wil be, but I really enjoyed them and now I want to make sure I run at least one every year.

3. Lose some weight/be healthier.
Of course, it's on everyone's list. I want to eat more fruits and veggies, work out more, less carbs and sugar, be healthier FOR ME.

4. Spend less.
It's not a surprise to anyone that I'm an avid shopper. If I don't have spending money, I usually avoid Target like that plague because I seriously CANNOT go in that store and not spend money. I've already planned out a budget and plan to stick to it 90% of the time. If I don't have any extra money for spending one week/month, I won't. It'll be a challenge I know, but I'm going to try my best to do it!

5. Put myself out there more.
Ok, I'm really bad at this. I don't go ANYWHERE to meet guys. I got  to church and work. That's it. And there's about all of zero at both places. So, I started slow and signed up for Plenty Of Fish. I've even responded to a few messages! Which is serious progress for me. I don't know that anything at all will come out of it, but I'm going to give the online dating thing a go.

6. Spend more time with my nieces and nephews.
I love Alabama and Pate to pieces, but I don't always get to spend large amounts of time with them. Plus, I'm also going to have another niece or nephew TODAY! I want to spend more time with all 3 of them this year.

7. Clean and be organized more.
I have a feeling if my room was more organized, getting ready in the mornings wouldn't take nearly as long! I have several projects I'm trying to do, so I plan to get those started ASAP.

8. Travel.
If you ask my family, they'd tell you I have this one covered. I love going places and I like traveling, even if it's just for a day. But, I have several friends that live in different states that I need to visit and I plan to make that happen in 2014.

9. Spend less time on my cell phone/computer
As we all do, I invest entirely too much of my time glued to my cell phone screen. I need to leave it in my purse during dinner and stop acting like I NEED to talk to someone 24/7. I plan to take a lot of cell phone free time this year.

10. Drink more water and less diet coke.
Obviously, I'm a big enough person to admit that I am NOT quitting diet coke or caffinee all together, but I definitely need to do better about my diet drink consumption. I plan to work on this in 2014.

All of these are things that I can work on throughout the entire year. It might take me until December 30th to lose any weight, but I'm going to try to do all 10 of them!

What goals or resolutions have you set for 2014?!
