Christmas Time's A-Comin'

I can't believe it! There's only ONE week left until Christmas. ONE WEEK! Where did this month go?! I feel like it was just yesterday I was blaring Christmas music out of my speakers for the first time. Which was before Thanksgiving, of course. Seriously, I love this time of year. It's my absolute favorite holiday! The movies are wonderful, the songs are joyful and triumphant, the food is superb...I mean, how can you NOT love it?!

I haven't watch Elf, Home Alone or The Grinch as many times as I'd like to this year, but there's still a week left to watch them, and watch them I will!
I haven't quite finished my shopping yet, either. I did 95% of  it on Black Friday while I sat behind my desk, but I've still got to buy for my Mama and Alabama then I'll be finished with family!

I've gone to look at Christmas lights 3 different times this year. It's one of my favorite Christmas activities. I just love them. I can't get enough. I know my sister and cousin are tired of looking at lights with me, but we have one more house we heard about to check out before I stop!
(we tried to go monday, but they were already off. boo.)

This time of year seems to be the busiest for everyone. There's another party to get to, that last present to wait in line for, your Elf has to be moved one more time, but don't get so caught up in the hustle and bustle that you forget the real meaning of the season. Santa, presents, decorations, and that Elf on the Shelf are all good fun, but stop and take a few minutes to really remember Jesus and how God sent his ONLY son to be born of a virgin in a lowly manger just for US. How humbling and amazing is that?
Take the time to sip some hot chocolate and soak up the Christmas season. Don't rush it.

 LUKE 2

And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city.
Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered.  And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.  And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.”
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:

“Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”
So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.”  And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger.  Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.

Enjoy your holiday season and Merry Christmas

Happy Wednesday!

XoXo,
AK
