The One with No Sleep.

I can't believe I haven't found time to blog about the weekend I didn't sleep until now! Two Friday nights ago, Sasha, Alicia and I drove to Atlanta for what would be the best concert we've ever attended: Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood.

A couple of months ago, Garth Brooks, my life long country music love, announced that he was coming back! I squealed with excitement like a white girl with a Pumpkin Spice Latte in Target with an unlimited bank account! I didn't care how far I'd have to drive, I knew that I would be going to see him even if it killed me. The way he has been announcing his tour is about the most ridiculous thing ever. He announced one show in Atlanta, then the day the tickets for that show went on sale, he announce 6 more!! Everybody and their brother were apparently trying to get tickets to the first show on Friday, so we decided to just get our tickets for the second show, which didn't start until 10:30pm! (YOLO, right?! ha!)

We drove to Atlanta after work and decided to grab a bite to eat before the concert at the Cheesecake Factory, because, well, Atlanta. Once we FINALLY found a place to park in the horrendous traffic that is downtown Atlanta, we rushed to the Phillips Arena with only minutes to spare. Or so we though.
We had to wait in a line as long as the Mississippi River to get into the place for a good hour. Which meant the show had to start late.  And by late, I mean it didn't start until 11:45. But, oh was it worth it!! The entire Phillips Arena danced and sang right along with Garth, and Trisha too, until 2am Saturday morning and I was in country music heaven. Seriously, it was pure bliss.

And because we haven't figured out how old we actually are yet, we decided to drive the 2+ hours back home that night after the concert. We got home about 5am, and I took a 2 1/2 hour nap before getting up to head to the UGA game with VA, Ad and Alabama! It was Bama's first Georgia game and I was so excited to be able to go with her!! Of course, we blew Troy out of the water with a 66-0 shutout. Oh, and just a little shout out to our dear cousin Ben who is a Troy alumni and the the biggest Troy fan around, How 'bout them Dawgs?! :D

It was such an absolutely beautiful day for a football game between the hedges! We had great seats thanks to Mama's co-worker. The group that sat behind us were quite hilarious annoying, though. Two of the people had never been to or seen a football game before. Apparently they weren't from 'Merica. The one who did "know" about football was trying to explain every little detail that was going on to them. But, she didn't really know what was going on herself, so I know they had to be confused. Bless their hearts!
We stopped by Rafferty's for an early supper per Bama's request, and the best #woahwaitwalmart Walmart before heading home.

Having no sleep and then no voice the next day was totally worth it.
Family, friends, football and country music. It just don't get any better.

XoXo,

'Merica. no, no they weren't. I'm sure they were both especially thrilled with her enthusiasm for the "silver sleeves" worn by the "female conductor" of the band! ha!
Love your use of metaphors and similes. Mrs. Brown would be proud.
