Just Keep Running..

I wouldn't say I'm a "runner". I wouldn't even say I enjoy running, and I definitely wouldn't say I'm healthy or in shape.
But, I am working on that! I'm not perfect with it by any means! I might have a piece of cake or some fried chicken once in a while but I'm SO much further than I once was.
Since the beginning of April, I've ran two 5k's. Running is basically a mixture of jogging and walking for me and most of the time I end up walking more than I run. But, I've really enjoyed them!

First, I teamed up with some work girls and did The Color Run in Atlanta at the beginning of April.

It was so much fun! I loved hanging out with these girls. I wasn't AT ALL ready for it, but they were nice and walked with me a lot of the time, and pushed me to run more! We used an entire pack of baby wipes and make up removing wipe to get all the "color" off of us! Ha!
Some of us even walked around with color in our hair for about a week!

Then, this past weekend, Sasha, Jessica and myself all went to Myrtle Beach for the weekend and ran the DIVA 5k on Sunday.

We had a blast! I ran more in this one, and finished quicker than The Color Run so I was happy! On the last half mile, there was a boa and tiara station which was fun! Then as we crossed the finish line, there were firefighters waiting with medals and roses, then a glass of champagne!
Bling and firefighters were totally worth the running! I wish we would have taken pictures with them! ;)
The hot donught sign was on at the KK when we finished, so we of course thought that would be the perfect "treat" after a morning run! That's acceptable, right?! HA!

I don't think I'll ever be in a place where'd I'd want to attempt a half or anything like that, but there's just something about standing at a start line with a group of people and crossing the finish line and feeling accomplished! I love it!!

Do you run? Have you ever ran a 5K?

LOVE IT!!!! Congratulations!

My roommates and I have started doing the couch to 5k program. Today was week three day 1. I'm considering going home in July and there is a color run about two hours from where my parents live that I am highly considering running in (hopefully with a friend or two).

More than wanting to be able to run a race (which is a big perk), I just want to enjoy running. I want that adrenaline rush and I want to have something like that to do when I am stressed. I want to enjoy moving and excercising and I hope through doing this I accomplish that.

So proud of you and your accomplishments!!!!!
